Radio BOB! Queen. The year 1971 marked the birth of a band that would revolutionize music. Three years after Brian May and Roger Taylor founded Smile, they met Farrokh Bulsara, originally from Zanzibar, who from then on called himself Freddie Mercury and served as singer and frontman. When Smile's bassist left the band in 1969, the remaining three members joined forces to form Queen. In 1971, John Deacon finally joined as bassist, completing the Queen lineup, which would remain unchanged for 20 years.
